Just a few months ago, IKEA revealed it would be resetting its smart home range, starting with 21 new products. Last month, a number of these products, including sensors and remote controls, went on sale. Most recently, the company attended CES 2026 to show off the new Varmblixt LED smart light, which is expected to launch in April. A newly spotted ad now gives more details about this smart bulb and could hint at an earlier release.

If you haven’t seen it yet, the Varmblixt LED Bulb is a doughnut-shaped, Matter-compatible smart bulb designed for tables and walls. In contrast to its orange-colored predecessor, this lamp has a matte white glass surface. It offers twelve preset colors that can cycle through white, pink, turquoise and more.
Although it has a launch window of April 2026, there is already a product listing you can visit Swedish website of IKEA (via Notebook control). No price was given when the lamp was shown at CES, but this page states that it will cost 699 SEK. This is the same price tag that came with the original Varmblixt lamp. This suggests that the updated version could cost $99 in the US.
It’s interesting that IKEA would post a sale so early for a product that wouldn’t be released until April. Could the presence of this page indicate an earlier than expected release for the Varmblixt LED smart bulb? Considering something similar happened with IKEA’s new smart sensors and remote controls, there’s a good chance an early launch is planned.
