Here you are a chance to buy one of the most beloved Sportssedans of the 1980s, which was once owned by a Formula 1 icon. And it is not only “every” 190. This is Senna’s personal car, bought by the Brazilian champion in 1985, immediately after his resounding success at the Nürburgring during the race of champions, one of the races that marked the start of his legendary racing career.
The victory that has changed everything
On May 12, 1984, De Jonge Senna made his debut and then debuted his Formula 1 in a TolemanMercedes invited to participate in a festive race to mark the opening of the new Nürburgring GP-Strecke circuit. In the beginning there were 20 of the biggest names in Motorsport, including Niki Lauda, Alain Prost and Carlos Reutemann. All racing in the new 190 E 2.3-16, prepared in racing configuration.
In rainy conditions, Senna surprised the world: from the third place he defeated Lauda and Prost and brought his smoke silver metal colored car to the finish line prior to a schedule of established champions. It was on that occasion that the Brazilian decided that he wanted to have his own 190.

Senna’s Mercedes 190
Senna ordered these Mercedes directly from the factory in 1985. He picked it up in Stuttgart with fellow countryman Mauricio Gugelmin and drove to his home in Esher, England. The car, with smoke silver metallic paint and black leather interior, has its original documentation, which certifies the purchase of Senna. It comes with the factory invoice, registration papers and tax receipts in its name.
Senna rode for two years and gathered slightly less than 28,000 miles, before sold it in 1987 pending moving to Monaco and joined McLaren. In the following years, the 190 changed ownership a few times, including with the current owner, who bought it in 1996 and moved to Australia in 2004.
Today the car has a little less than 155,343 miles and retains various unique details, such as the signature of Niki Lauda that is applied to the motor compartment in the Australian Grand Prix 2016. The Tool kit, the Becker Mexico Stereo, the original fire extinguisher and even the never opened.
