Starting the ball on your intended line is the key to making more puts. Sounds simple, but you have to do the work. I recommend that, at least twice a week, you will be on the right four-legs to turn it into a second nature.
Copy my training station: a hanging string line (so that you can ensure that the ball comes straight and rolls directly) and a well plate (Pitplates.com), Developed by Teacher Derek Uyeda to help you set the Putter -Veenschichtsplein from the start. What you will find is that once you learn a straight putt of four feet, exactly where you want, all other putts become much easier.
Go in a comfortable adequate position – your choice – but at least put your eyes directly over the ball. Now, roll puts. With the help of the plate and the use of the line as your guide, you have to get into a good rhythm of setting up square against the ball and rolling the dead.
This may seem boring, but practice is invaluable. Think about how many four footers you encounter in a typical round. And learning to direct your putter face correctly – nothing to say about starting the ball online – is huge. Even when breaking puts, the ball will start its role in the direction you intend to make the difference in the world.
