Now researchers have found the answer – and if you don’t say it yourself, you probably know someone who does. The most beautiful name is a common first name in Sweden.

But what makes a name beautiful? Is it about how it sounds? What does it mean or maybe what it feels like to say it out loud? In the research they conducted, they found out which name actually sounds best.

Linguist Bodo Winter from the University of Birmingham is behind the research. Who, together with the British My 1st Years, analyzed hundreds of popular names from the US and Great Britain. With the aim of finding out which name actually – purely scientific – sounds best.

Using phonetic analysis, the team examined sound, rhythm and emotional impact. The winning name was a hit: a soft opening, harmonious singing, a flowing ending and a historical significance dating back to ancient Greece. So which name was the winner according to the survey?
