Hemetsberger defeats Buntan by split decision to win the ONE women’s strawweight kickboxing world title

February 14, 2026 – Bangkok, Thailand: ONE championship (ONE) returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium with another explosive night at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II.

In the main event, Austrian sensation Stella “Always Hungry” Hemetsberger etched her name in the history books, defeating Jackie Buntan via split decision to capture the ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title and become a ONE two-sport World Champion.

In the high-level chess match, Buntan pressed forward behind sharp boxing combinations, while Hemetsberger used distance management and stabbing leg kicks to threaten the Filipino-American’s base. The pace continued with intensity in the third and fourth rounds, with the fighters trading their heaviest artillery in the center of the ring.

In fact, the fight was heading into the final frame as both women traded powerful punches to sway the judges. Buntan connected with two high kicks and a snappy straight right, but Hemetsberger responded with timely combinations of his own to seal the razor-thin win.

With the historic victory, “Always Hungry” now reigns as the undisputed queen of the strawweight division in both Muay Thai and kickboxing.

In the co-main event, Scottish knockout artist “King of the North” Nico Carrillo captured the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship with a gritty victory over Thailand’s Shadow Singha Mawynn in an instant classic.

The highly anticipated showdown began with both featherweights being patient and calculated with their attacks. However, the momentum shifted in Shadow’s favor during the middle rounds, as Thai standout Carrillo staggered with a thunderous left hook in the second stanza and continued with varied attacks in the third.

“King of the North” showcased his signature toughness to turn the tide in a dramatic fourth frame, knocking Shadow down with a sharp right hand and then unleashing powerful boxing combinations that left both men visibly tired entering the final round.

However, Carrillo pushed through the exhaustion and turned up the pressure to complete the deal. With the win he made history as Scotland’s first ONE World Champion.
