Heliovaara & Patten takes the Paris crown and extends race number 1 at the end of the year

Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten captured their first ATP Masters 1000 title at the Rolex Paris Masters on Sunday, beating second seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool 6-3, 6-4.

With their victory in the championship match, Heliovaara and Patten ensured that the battle for ATP Year-End No. 1 Doubles, presented by PIF honours, will go to the extreme during the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. Had Cash and Glasspool captured their eighth title of the season, they would have secured that honor.

In a fearless final performance, Heliovaara and Patten saved all three break points they faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats, all of which came in a crucial fifth game. The victory also marked a breakthrough for the Finnish-British duo, who had lost all four previous Lexus ATP Head2Head meetings with Cash and Glasspool earlier in 2025.

“It’s great. We’re two very lucky, lucky guys,” Patten said. “Julian and Lloyd are the best duo in the world right now. We are still 4-1 down and have a lot of catching up to do. We are extremely proud of the achievement and there is no better place to do that in Paris.”

With their victory, Heliovaara and Patten climbed to second place in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings, now just 1,305 points behind first-placed Cash and Glasspool.

“I had another team that I lost to four times in a row,” added Heliovaara, who played alongside Glasspool between 2021 and 2023. “I told them after the fifth that ‘nobody beats Harri five times in a row’. We learned from those previous games. It’s such a strange dynamic. [with Cash/Glasspool]we are such good friends until 10 minutes before we step on the field, and then it’s battle, battle, battle.”

Heliovaara and Patten’s breakthrough in Paris marked their third title of the season, including victory at the Australian Open. They will now be reset before heading to the Nitto ATP Finals, where they made their team debut last year.

“We are very excited to play against Turin,” Patten said. “Our main goal is to enjoy the week and hopefully we can play good tennis.”
