Sachin Tendulkar has responded to the pension of Virat Kohli from Test Cricket prior to the India-England series. Virat participated in each tour to England from 2011 to 2021. He led the Indian team during the Tours in 2018 and 2021.

India will not have the availability of their most important player, Virat Kohli, for the crucial tour through England. The former captain of India got off the Red-Ball cricket prior to the selection of the team for the series. Virat participated in a Ranji trophy competition after the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar trophy and seemed ready for the English tour. However, he surprised the cricket community with his pension announcement.

Before the start of the tour of England, Sachin Tendulkar shared his thoughts about Virat’s retirement test. In an interview with BBC Sports, the Master Blaster stated: “It is a personal decision. So you know that it is easy for an outsider to just give a loose comment and say, ok, he should not have done what that might be. But a person understands the state of mind, how the body reacts to the longer format of the game.

Virat withdrew from T20i Cricket after his victory in the World Cup 2024 and currently only participates in ODI Cricket. A week prior to Virat’s retirement, Rohit Sharma also stepped away from test cricket. Rohit served as captain of India during the tour through Australia. He chose to exclude himself from the fifth test, but assured that he would remain available for test competitions. Rohit continues to lead the ODI team to the World Cup 2027.

Tendulkar stated that every player is making a lot of effort to prepare for such challenges. The cricket icon is convinced that the India team, led by Shubman Gill, owns the ‘firepower’ needed to take on the challenge in England.

“But that is what all players work hard for – to prepare for those difficult moments. I think the team has the firepower to counter what the England – team is going to do. We also have the experience of players such as Kl Rahul, (Ravindra) Jadeja, (Klikrit) Bumrah (he has now experienced a lot of time, Success has experienced, shubs, shubs now, Subsas’s Succet, Subsas BABART IS SUCHABET, SUCHABET IS SUCHAPT, now also experienced, SuccaThas. County cricket here.

The about five games against England will mark the start of a new era in test cricket for India led by Shubman Gill. This will be the first Red-Ball challenge of India after the successive retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli of the longest size of the sport.
