The high voltage India-Pakistan Super Four Clash in the Asia Cup 2025 has escalated in controversy, where both cricket signs submit complaints to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about alleged misconduct by players.
According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has submitted a formal protest against Haris Rauf from Pakistan and Sahaibzada Farhan for unsporting behavior during the game of 21 September.
The complaint accuses Rauf of making provocative gestures that focus on India’s army after fans sang the name of Virat Kohli, together with the use of abuse language towards Indian openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma.
Farhan is confronted with control for a party where he mimics a machine gun with his bat after reaching a milestone. The action attracted sharp criticism online.
Farhan, however, rejected the return and said it was spontaneous. “It suddenly came up with me who do a parties today. I don’t care how people take it,” he said reporters.
If the players deny the allegations, the ICC is expected to perform a hearing, with Match referee Richie Richardson who probably supervises the procedure. Punishments can follow if their statements are considered unsatisfactory.
In the meantime, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has prevented his own complaint against India captain Suryakumar Yadav for his comments after the match after the victory of 14 September.
Suryakumar had devoted the victory to victims of Pahalgam’s terror attack and praised the Indian forces for Operation Sindoor. The PCB claims that his comments were political, although the ICC rules can prevent the case from continuing if it is submitted after the seven-day deadline.
