India Batter Hanuma Vihari can again be moving in the domestic cricket. The experienced right-handed has searched for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the Andhra Cricket Association to change teams for the new season.
The Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) has already confirmed discussions with him. TCA member Tapan Lodh said that Vihari is one of the players they want to sign. If the movement continues, he will represent Tripura in the Ranji trophy of 2025–26.
“I have thought of a switch. Tripura has asked me for a while,” said Vihari, as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Vihari has been an essential figure for Andhra in recent years and scored 3,013 runs on an average of 44.97, including four centuries and 20 half centuries. His courage was shown the most famous in the quarterfinals of 2022–23 Ranji Trophy when he hit a broken wrist to save his team.
“We have recommended the association a few names to sign as professionals. I cannot reveal the names, but I know we sign Vihari,” Lodh noted.
The 30-year-old played 131 first-class matches and scored 9,585 runs, together with 97 List-A performances. For India he played in 16 tests, including the memorable Sydney test of 2021, where he moisture a tie to protect a draw.
Vihari’s domestic career has previously changed him from team, moving between Hyderabad and Andhra, before he finally settled with Andhra again. Now he can be planned for a new challenge with Tripura, which are placed in addition to Bengal, Haryana and Gujarat in Elitegroep C of the Ranji trophy.
If signed, his experience will be an important boost for the Batting -Line -Up of Tripura and the depth of leadership.
