Israel ‘Carefully optimistic’, says Netanyahu’s office
Israel is “carefully optimistic” about the reporters told by Donald Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, while peace talks were resumed this week in Egypt.
Netanyahu has accepted Mr. Trump’s plan, which calls for the immediate release of the hostages. The plan also evokes that Gaza is placed under international governance and that Hamas is being disarmed, elements that the militants still have to accept.
Sources at the Prime Minister’s office told the Jerusalem Post that the current discussions are aimed at the less controversial issues, where there is a broad agreement.
The more complex cases are expected to be tackled, probably when the American team and the Qatari Prime Minister will participate in the conversations in Egypt on Wednesday.
