Isack Hadjar described his qualification performance in the Dutch Grand Prix as his best round of the year after he had obtained a career-best fourth place on the schedule.

The Racing Bulls -smokie has 22 points to his name, but only scored a lonely point about the last five races, thanks to the eighth place in the Sprint in Spa. On Saturday in Zandvoort, he placed himself in an excellent position to add to his count with an impressive final round that celebrated him behind the McLarens and Max Verstappen, and says that the handling of the car enabled him to take risks in his last attempt.

“To be honest, it was the car exactly the way I wanted,” said Hadjar. “It reacted really well, especially in that last round. We probably had a bit of luck with the gusts of wind; I don’t know, we have to look at the data. But I made a great round and it stuck because the car was great.

“It is probably the best round I have had this year, because it is a very hard road, really demanding. And I put it all at stake, especially that last corner. I thought I was doing pretty well there to win a tenth more. That was special.”

Hadjar extended the impact of the wind: “To be honest, it is a terrible feeling when you are in the car and you are hit by one. You can lose a maximum of two tenths in a single corner. It is very annoying, so you have to be lucky.”

Although Zandvoort is seen as a tight track with few catch -up options, Hadjar believes that the DRS -Setup will make him vulnerable to faster cars, but will not become entangled in unnecessary incidents.

“To be honest, I don’t think it’s really hard to catch up here. Looking at how long the straight is and the Drs zone starts very early. So if they have more pace, they will catch up, and that’s it – we have to accept it and be smart.

“We limited the mileage yesterday, but watch Liam [Lawson]He was pretty fast yesterday. The car is healthy. It is quickly one round, so it will be fast on many more laps. “
