Growing demand for multi -car garages in luxury Adelaide homes – realestate.com.au

Extensive garages designed for luxury car collections and other valued vehicles are increasingly becoming one of the most sought after functions in prestige property.

Real estate experts say that housing houses at the top of the market for four or more vehicles in large numbers attract potential buyers, while many homeowners build them for their own advantage with the science they can help sell in the future.

William’s real estate partner Stephanie Williams said that many garages with space for several cars – as well as valued campers, boats and engines – are designed for trophy vehicles.

The Yankalilla feature at 632 Salt Creek RD has two garages – one with two spaces and the other with four.


It also has a carport next to one of the garages.


“Everything with a four, five, six-car garage, which brings out so many well-to-do buyers,” she said.

“Those customers are looking for striking, statement garages for their luxury cars.

“People want their toys, their beautiful luxury cars, house at home – it’s nice to have a gallery with cars at home.”

Mrs. Williams said that many homeowners and developers were building large garages in new and contemporary houses – some even with living spaces to lean back and admire the vehicles.

Booth broker Jamie Brown said, however, that many they also added to historic character houses.

The Stirling feature at 57 Old Mount Barker RD has a garage for four cars.


It is separated from the main house.


“Many people go underground if they can,” he said.

“I have had a number of customers who have spent more than $ 1 million under tennis courts in older houses.

“Good garage is becoming more important, especially in the top of the market.

“It is almost essential now, people are tired of going to another site – they usually have more than one and they are a bit tired from driving to a warehouse (where they store them).”

The Semafoor building on 23 Penny ST, which is last sold in 2022, has a secondary garage with a turntable.


Both Mr Brown and Mrs. Williams said that swimming pools and tennis courts were still popular in prestige homes and many buyers wanted the whole package, but some preferred large garages.

“They all want it, but some can refrain from a tennis court,” said Mr. Brown.

“It is in the luxury, prestige space that garage is very well received,” said Mrs. Williams.
