The Memphis Grizzlies announced Wednesday that Zach Edey will be reevaluated in six weeks as he continues to recover from a stress reaction in his left ankle that was first diagnosed on Dec. 11.
Scotty Pippen Jr. and Brandon Clarke are expected to return to action in four to six weeks, the team said, adding a boost to Memphis’ rotation.
Pippen Jr., 23, has contributed primarily as a scorer and playmaker off the bench, while Clarke, 29, adds versatility to the power forward with defensive and rebounding abilities despite limited appearances this season.
Memphis is currently 17-22, 10th in the Western Conference and 16.0 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team alternated wins and losses in January, including a 103–98 victory over Brooklyn on January 11.
Ja Morant leads the Grizzlies with 19.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game, while Jaren Jackson Jr. averages 18.5 points and 5.6 rebounds. Cedric Coward and Santi Aldama provide additional scoring support in the rotation.
The Grizzlies’ schedule remains challenging with upcoming road games in Orlando and Houston, as well as home games against Denver, New Orleans and Minnesota before the All-Star break.
