Grimsby Town make move to loan Arsenal defender News: The72 – Football League News

Grimsby Town have approached Arsenal on a loan deal for centre-back Maldini Kacurri Piet O’Rourke.

One-cap Albanian international Kacurri started out in Fulham’s youth academy before joining Arsenal as a youngster. He rose through their ranks before joining Bromley on loan for the first time in the second half of last season.

However, he made just three appearances for the Ravens, leading to a drop back to the National League with Morecambe. Despite their dismal season, Kacurri performed well, securing a starting spot and leading a recall to take him to the next level.

A move to Grimsby Town could be a good move for Kacurri. He joins a side that is gaining momentum with a smart manager in Artell, whose track record of developing young players will certainly appeal to Arsenal.

Kacurri would join a centre-back squad that includes Sam Lavelle, Cameron McJannet, Doug Tharme and Harvey Rodgers, although the latter has mainly played as a right-back this season.

The Mariners have seen a handful of comings and goings this winter transfer window. However, there is still room for new additions to the ranks, which could mean some late exits.
