Greta Thunberg showed more confidence than world leaders and “silent her critics,” says a body language expert.

The climate campaigner yesterday described a “fairly chaotic and uncertain” situation during her detention, after the conquest of the Gaza-related ship she was sitting on. She spoke with reporters in Paris on the way to her home country of Sweden and during the address the 22-year-old activist calmly maintained calmness and conviction.

Judi James, an expert from the body language, said: “Her body language suggests a feeling of powerful self -confirmation for her messages. Her conviction looks unassailable. She seems to offer facts, no opinions and there is her bitter smile that seems to be mocking.

And Greta caused controversy after she repeatedly claimed that she had been “abducted” by the Israeli authorities. The campaigner said that she and the other 11 activists on the boat, called Madleen, were taken “against our own will” after the interception.

But the body language expert believes that Greta used all the skills of a political professional to influence critics. Mrs James added: “Her bitter smile as she starts talking, gives that impression of superiority, as if she quietly mocks her critics … When she speaks, she uses a lot of the communication devices that world leaders use to project power and authority.” She also told Mail online Greta’s “youthful appearance tends to add to the image of a heroine while she appears like a loner”.

Madleen wore food and supplies for Gaza. The Israeli authorities, however, have branded the ship ‘a selfie yacht’ and said that ‘unauthorized attempts to break the blockage are dangerous, illegal and ongoing humanitarian efforts’ in a damn statement on Monday.

Donald Trump also turned out to be a fierce critic who described Greta as a “young, angry person” and suggested that she had to look for “anger management classes”. In response, Greta said: “I think the world needs many more young angry women.”

Of the 12 activists on board the boat, four including Greta agreed to be deported immediately. The Swede has now called for the release of the other campaigners, who are from all over the world.

“We were well aware of the risks of this mission. The goal was to come to Gaza and to be able to distribute the help,” Greta told reporters in Paris. Israel has imposed restrictions on the help of the population of Gaza of more than two million people. The activists had called on governments to do more to help citizens.

Polling, however, appears that almost two -thirds of the British is of the opinion that the UK should suspend all arms sales to Israel, while 60% believe that a trade agreement between the two countries should be suspended.
