FOX News’ Greg Gutfeld was not only friends with Scott Adams, he greatly admired him and recognized Adams’ special ability to reframe the way people thought about things.
Last week, when Adams passed away, Greg was one of the first people to share the news of his death and his feelings about him.
Rest in glorious peace, @ScottAdamsSays – you’ve changed more lives and made the world infinitely better. God bless you and thank you for all you have done for me. We will always love you.

Today Greg wrote an op-ed about Adams, sharing how he met him at a perfect time in his life.
Here’s an excerpt from it FOX News:
I accidentally came across Scott Adams, but it couldn’t have come at a better time for me.
It was about 2015 or so, and I was excited and bothered by Donald Trump.
My friends and family members had jumped aboard the Trump train, but I resisted – and with resentment. No doubt I had my reasons for it. But I never wonder what lay beneath those reasons. Turns out it was self-doubt – the weak armor of an insecure ego.
I found myself dreading my work and angry that almost all my predictive powers had failed. Every day I would say, “Trump is done!” and he only grew stronger. This wasn’t like me.
But one day, a soul I will never be able to thank tweeted a simple suggestion: read Scott Adams. And in a rare moment, I decided to act on a comment on Twitter. I googled Scott’s blog. And it changed my life.
Scott, of course, was already a world-famous cartoonist – the creator of ‘Dilbert’. He had a stack of bestsellers.
But I knew little about that world. And I had no idea what I would discover when I entered the Scott Adams universe – a place where the most profound thinker ruled with a cup of coffee, a goofy grin and a deep understanding of damp robots – i.e. humans.
Scott loved people, but understood the nature of their pain – caused by how little they understood the reality behind the pain they perceived as real.
Gutfeld also paid tribute to Scott Adams on his show last week. Watch:
