The third edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational has begun, with Charley Hull and Michael Brennan sharing the first round lead with Lexi Thompson and Wyndham Clark on 17 under par.
The format of the first day was a battle and the leading teams put on quite a show, carding 13 birdies and two eagles each.
Saturday’s format will be significantly more difficult as the teams will play in foursomes or alternating shots. What strategy will be at play?
“I don’t know,” Brennan said after the round. “We just finished scoring and we saw Jeff and Adam, our caddies, going over the yardages and they got a call. So probably listen to what they say.”
