The railway has introduced new rules in Tatkal Booking.
The Indian Railways has made a big decision to prevent scam in the online railway booking system. The IDs of more than 2.5 crore users from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have been deactivated. The move was taken after identifying suspicious railway booking patterns and fake users. The government gave a detailed description of the last initiative after MP Ad Singh interviewed the government on the subject in the current parliamentary session.
Fake IRCTC account -id removed
Before the government has deactivated this account IDs, the Tatkal ticket booking option was dealing with enormous problems. It has also been noted that, although real users booked Tatkal, the booking window was used to close in minutes after open. This problem arose from automated bots that would quickly book hundreds of tickets within a few minutes, making real users difficult to secure tickets. But after this initiative of the railways, real users will get a great relief.
During the parliament session, the government also said that the Public Prosecution Service has promoted confirmed ticket booking and digital booking, made it some major changes.
IRCTC New Reformed Rules
According to the new rules, reserved tickets can be booked online or with the automated passenger reservation system (PRS) on a “first grinds, grinds first”. Nowadays, however, around 89% of the total tickets are booked via online platforms. Digital payment facilities are available at PRS counters.
The government has made it mandatory to book Tatkal tickets from 1 July 2025, after the Aadhaar maps of users have been verified via the IRCTC website or app. The new rules also forbid agents to book Tatkal tickets in the first 30 minutes after the Tatkal reservation is opened. The waiting list status of trains is regularly monitored and Indian Railways has special trains to meet the surplus demand.
The railways have also made many changes to the emergency quota. Up to now, applications for emergency help ticket bookings have been sent on the same day as travel, but from now on applicants must submit the applications the day before. This quota is only available for MPs, high -ranking officials, medical emergencies and seniors.
