54 Vaughan Dr, Ormeau is for sale
A resort-style family complex, complete with Australian Open-inspired tennis court, has hit the market on the Gold Coast.
The six-bedroom, three-bathroom property in Ormeau was a renovation delight when it was purchased 18 months ago before being transformed into an entertainer’s dream.
Set over an extensive single storey plot on a 5,111m² plot at 54 Vaughan Dr, this is the latest project completed by Paul and Kirsten Giddings.
The blue course inspired by the Australian Open
Although the couple are renovation veterans and achieved a record price for their previous construction in Belivah, this was the first time their three teenage sons helped.
“Paul does commercial landscaping, so he does the exterior and I do the interior,” Ms. Giddings said.
“Our eldest son is taking a carpentry course at school, so he was able to help the builder with a number of things.
“We all got to contribute a part. It was a family project.”
The house is being marketed through an expressions of interest campaign with Ray White Alliance agents James Devlin and Jason Atkinson.
It has been transformed inside and out
Notable features include a spectacular outdoor setting with a newly constructed tennis court and gazebo with views, a swimming pool with spa and stone surround, and an expansive entertaining terrace with a BBQ area.
“The Australian Open really inspired the blue court because a lot of courts now seem to be that color. It has floodlights so you can play at night,” Ms Giddings said.
The family renovated and expanded the bedrooms, redecorated the bathrooms, as well as the kitchen and laundry room.

What’s next for this $700 million Gold Coast housing scheme?
‘In its heyday it had left the same salmon carpet and mint green walls as when it was built.
“It had a lot of terracotta, yellow and heritage greenery, both inside and out.”
She said the renovation was quite high-end as they planned to occupy the property themselves, with stone tiles and travertine pavers on the exterior.
There is also a large barn to the rear which could be used as an office space or a retreat for teenagers, while the property also has a five-car garage as well as shaded parking for a caravan or boat.

Mr Devlin said the house was designed for both lifestyle and functionality.
“The home has been carefully updated throughout and features stone floors, premium new carpet and carefully considered finishes that combine comfort, quality and refined living at every turn,” he said.
“This is the ultimate property for large or extended families, entertainers and anyone wanting to embrace a resort-inspired lifestyle, just a stone’s throw from local amenities, schools and major transport links.”
PropTrack data shows home prices in Ormeau have risen 10.7 percent since last year, to a median of $974,500.
