Godswill Akpabio United Football Club (GauFC) announced on Sunday 10 August 2025 as the resumed date for players prior to the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The club of the club will reopen on that date, whereby all players are expected to return. The training starts the next day, Monday 11 August, under the supervision of the coaching team and the back room staff.
This early return is part of the strategy of Godswill Akpabio United FC to build on the success of their debut NNL campaign and to prepare for the new season.
The club confirmed that last season 20 players have been retained to form the core of the team.
In a statement Godswill Akpabio United FC appreciated players who left the team:
