You’ve probably heard that Joe is very well liked Table ‘Goals at hand’. You might be listening to his and Marc’s Fantasy Football Scout podcast of the same name. Now Goals Imminent is here in article form!
Heading into Gameweek 25 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), this one Members area statistics identify some underperforming players who appear ‘ready’ for a goal and/or assist.
Naturally, we try to judge whether they are unlucky, have a rare glitch or are simply not particularly good.
THE SUCCESSES OF THE LAST WEEK
The name at the top of Gameweek 24’s list, Kevin Damage (£7.1m), was shown a straight red card at Villa Park instead! He will miss the next two league matches.
It was better before Rayan Cherki (£6.6 million) and Jarrod Bowen (£7.6 million). We talked about the Frenchman being more concerned with scoring goals than scoring for himself, but he put Manchester City ahead on Sunday afternoon, played in by Erling Haaland (£15.0 million).
Bowen has two goals in two, leaving him off the table this week.
Yet the main successes came from the predicted assistants, despite only six of the nine being able to play.
Casemiro (£5.5 million) and Pascal Gross (£5.5m) achieved 13 and 12 points respectively Crysencio Summerville (£5.5m) scored for the third time in a row.
OBJECTIVES IMMINENT
The first table shows players who have gathered at least nine shots during the last four Gameweeks, but scored no more than one goal.
