You’ve probably heard that Joe is very well liked Table ‘Goals at hand’. You might listen to the Fantasy Football Scout podcast of the same name. Now Goals Imminent is a permanent feature in article form!
Heading into Gameweek 16 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), we use our Members area statistics to identify some underperforming players who appear ‘ready’ for a goal and/or assist.
Naturally, we try to judge whether they are unlucky, have a rare glitch or are simply not particularly good.
THE SUCCESSES OF THE LAST WEEK
You may have heard that before Mohammed Salah (£14.0m) was benched again on Saturday and didn’t like it.
The unused replacement was one of nine names on our Goals Imminent table, with Jarrod Bowen (£7.5m) one of two names to score. He suddenly looks like a nice way out of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s (£8.0m) problem.
Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) went better than that, achieving his joint second-highest ever FPL score on Monday.
At Craven Cottage, Raul Jimenez (£6.2m) set up Harry Wilson’s (£5.2m) strike, but opponents Crystal Palace won late on To elect‘s (£5.8m) corner.
He would indeed assist, but Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.6m) exceeded predictions by briefly giving Liverpool a 3-2 lead against Leeds United.
OBJECTIVES IMMINENT
The first table shows players who have gathered at least eight shots during the last four Gameweeks, but scored no more than one goal.
