Gilroy’s Dustin Wolf, the star of the Calgary Flames’ Rookie goalkeeper, signed a seven-year contract extension of $ 52.5 million on Tuesday.
Wolf finished second in Calder Trophy, who voted last season as NHL Rookie of the Year, a place for San Jose’s Macklin Celebrini and a place behind winner Lane Hutson van Montreal.
Wolf had a record of 29-16-8 with a .910 savings percentage and a 2.64 goals-to-average.
The 24-year-old finished 11th in victories and savings percentage among NHL goalkeepers in his Rookie season, where he on the edge of a play-off berth Backstopping.
“I am underestimated my entire career; a large majority of it because of how long I have been,” said the 6-foot long wolf. “And I think that’s a disguised blessing, because then you can just do your company.”
Wolf, who also played 17 games in Calgary during the 2023-24 season, was the goalkeeper of the year of the American Hockey League in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
His expansion will start for the 2026-27 season and runs through 2033.
