Clan had most of the possession in the final phase, but it was the Giants goalkeeper who was the difference. Whistle also stopped Poolman from close by with just over three minutes to go, while the Giants just led a charmed life.
With 42 seconds to go and Pekel was already pulled, the clan called a time -out to draw up their last plays. For the second night in a row, however, David Goodwin hit the empty net from his own zone to complete the game with 33 seconds to play.
