Chicago – three weeks in the reintroduction of Giancarlo Stanton against the outfield, it went almost as well as the Yankees could have hoped.
They still play with fire and the veteran Slugger start the right field on most days on most days while waiting for the training staff Aaron Judge to play the field for the first time since the suffering of a flexor voltage, but Stanton has kept his own in the meantime.
“It seems to be going well,” said manager Aaron Boone on Saturday, when he had Stanton on the couch before he was hit and grounded in a doubles in a 5-3, 11-inner victory over the White Sox. “We had the one I played him [three] Days in a row for the last trip, probably took a bit out of him and he missed the St. Louis series. But even that wasn’t such a big deal. I feel physically, it has disappeared well. He and I communicate well around it.
“So I’ve been satisfied.”
The 35-year-old Stanton is still limited in how well he can move because of his history of injury in the lower body, but so far his presence in the right field has not yet burned the Yankees.
In Saturday, Stanton had started 11 games in the right field (and appeared there in two more games) since Judge returned from the injured list to bind the DH spot.

But one thing he won’t do, at least not in the coming series, because the Yankees visit the Astros, went to the left field.
The last time Stanton played the field in Houston – Game 3 of the ALCS 2022 – he started in the left field, where the Crawford boxes stand out and create a smaller area to cover.
But Boone said on Saturday that he had no plans to switch Stanton to the left field in Houston, partly because it does not have a large right field.
Boone said that Fenway Park – where the Yankees will play a series in two weeks – “the only extreme” is with a wide right field, which means that Stanton could play “possible” there, as he did in the past.
It is also possible that the Yankees played the judge the field by that time – he had a “light day” work on Saturday after he had thrown back to second base on Friday – but a timeline to actually happen under a seal.
“I think he will continue and keeps getting a little better,” said Boone.
In the meantime, Judge crushed his 42nd home run of the season on Saturday evening.
He went into the day and only hit .216 in 22 games since he came from the IL, but went deep for the fifth time in that piece.
“Good to see that,” said Boone. “He will get started. I can’t hold him for too long.”
Austin Wells Homde for the second time in three games on Saturday and offers more hope that he will start playing a corner after an extensive malaise on the record.
The catcher showed some extra emotion upon return to the dugout after his 19th home run of the year.
“I think it was from the first two barriers that were pissed off, I missed a few throws and held it for a few innings,” he said.
Devin Williams blew a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning and gave up his first earned run since 8 August after having gone without having gone without having gone.
