George Springer’s sister gets married in wild World Series timing

Toronto Blue Jays slugger George Springer has a busy month ahead of him.

The MLB All-Star will attend the wedding of his younger sister, Lena Springer, after Toronto faces the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 Fall Classic.

Lena, the head softball coach at Trinity College, said she’s getting married next month in a post on

“A World Series a week before my wedding wasn’t originally on the bingo card for 2025, but boy am I glad it is now!!! Let’s Goooooooooo!!!!” Lena, 30, wrote on X Monday, following her brother’s three-run home run that secured the Blue Jays’ spot in the World Series for the first time in three decades.

The 2025 World Series starts on Friday in Toronto and runs until at least October 28.

The Fall Classic could last into early November, with a Game 6 scheduled for October 31 and Game 7 on November 1, if necessary.

It is unclear when and where exactly Lena will get married.

The siblings grew up in New Britain, Conn.

“Lots of great things happening!! LETS GO JAYS!!” Lena wrote under one Instagram post from ESPNstating that she was finalizing her wedding details during the outfielder’s big career moment.

“For the third time I get to see you in the World Series. Is this real life?” Lena said in another tweet, with a photo of their family, with his wife, Charlise Springer, and their two children during Toronto’s ALCS triumph over the Mariners.

The 36-year-old Springer won his first World Series with the Astros in 2017. He was named World Series MVP and made the MLB All-Star team that year.

Springer later signed a six-year, $150 million contract with the Blue Jays in 2021 after seven seasons with Houston.

The Dodgers and Blue Jays played one series this year, while Los Angeles won two of three in August.

Los Angeles has one week left until the start of the World Series after sweeping the Brewers in the National League Championship Series.

The Dodgers look to defend their title after beating the Yankees in 2024.
