According to documents related to the recallthe problem stems from a software logic problem in the HD radio’s memory storage. The fault can cause the instrument cluster and infotainment screens to occasionally restart while the vehicle is moving, hiding important information such as the speedometer, fuel gauge and any temperature gauges.

At the time the recall was filed, Genesis was not aware of any crashes or injuries associated with the defective screens. However, the automaker reported that it had received 237 complaints related to the issue filed between September 26, 2024 and January 2, 2026. The automaker began rolling out the remedy software as part of a production change that began on November 26, 2025.

The automaker recommends that owners of affected vehicles disable the HD Radio feature in their cars until the fix is applied. The automaker will notify owners of affected models via email with instructions to take their car to a dealer so technicians can confirm and possibly update the software. Genesis also plans to use over-the-air software updates for eligible vehicles. Owners concerned that their vehicle may be included in the recall can check the NHTSA site.
