Genesis has unveiled the GV60 Magma, the brand’s first high-performance production model, at the Magma world premiere where the Magma GT Concept was also unveiled.
Based on the GV60 EV that made its debut in 2022, the GV60 Magma features a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 609 hp and 740 Nm, or up to 650 hp and 790 Nm when Boost mode is activated. The claimed 0-200 km/h time is 10.9 seconds with Launch Control engaged, and a top speed of 264 km/h.
These performance figures for the GV60 Magma are comparable to those of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, a stablemate from the Hyundai group, with a maximum of 650 hp and 770 Nm with the N Grin Boost temporary boost function enabled. According to Coachthe GV60 Magma gets an 84 kW battery, and the 800 volt architecture can handle up to 240 kW DC charging.

In addition to the initial acceleration with Boost mode enabled (possible for up to 15 seconds), the manufacturer says the GV60 Magma can maintain consistent power even at higher speeds. Three driving modes are offered; Sprint, GT and MY, the latter offering customizable settings for the vehicle’s electronic LSD, stability control and other parameters.
Chassis changes applied to the GV60 Magma over the standard GV60 include a 20mm lower ride height, different geometry and roll center, electronically controlled suspension and revised front and rear bushings. The rolling stock consists of a set of 21-inch alloy wheels with 275mm wide tires, while braking power is provided by monobloc front calipers with enlarged discs, and rear brakes with upgraded pads.

Despite the wider tires, Genesis says that the silence in the GV60 Magma’s cabin is maintained through the use of Active Noise Control-Road, sound-insulating glass and reinforced door seal.
As part of the performance model, the GV60 Magma gets a special digital interface to distinguish the high-performance variant from the regular model. Activating Magma mode brings up a three-circle layout for the driver’s instrument display, for data such as engine and battery temperatures, speed and G-forces. The head-up display is also simplified to show speed, regenerative braking and remaining boost time.
Market launch of the Genesis GV60 Magma will begin in Korea in early 2026, with European and North American markets to follow.
