Twins Righty Darren McCaughan Cast by exemptions not claimed and is downright assigned to Triple-a St. Paul, According to the team’s transaction log. McCaughan was appointed earlier in the week for allocation when the twin Righty claimed Brooks Kriske From distance from the cubs.
Minnesota signed the 29-year-old McCaughan in the winter for a Minor League deal. He threw 5 1/3 solid innings at the end of March/early April before he was taken by distance after his first DFA of the season. He was called back to the major competitions not long after last week’s fire sale to add some length to the bullpen, but never came into a game. He will still collect three extra days of big league service for his short journey over the Mississippi River.
McCaughan has spent most of his career in the Mariners organization, where he has been a sustainable source of innings in their Triple-A rotation. He has received a short main class cooks in Seattle, Miami and Cleveland next to this year’s twins. In 61 1/3 Major League -Ininning he has earned an average of 6.02 run. He has organized an ERA of just over 5.00 in parts of seven triple-a seasons, including a 5.35 mark in 72 1/3 frames with the top filiate of the twins in 2025.
McCaughan is previously downright in his career, which gives him the right to reject a Minor League assignment in favor of a free agency. He chose the last time for free desk, but quickly attracted a new Minor League deal to stay with the twins.
