Hull City delved into the transfer market last summer and signed Oli McBurnie, John Lundstram and Semi Ajayi, among others. They also cut ties with players such as Alfie Jones, Sean McLoughlin and Steven Alzate.

The Tigers have until the end of the January period on Monday, February 2 to sign a number of players. They recently made the choice for Yu Hirakawa from Bristol City.

The Tigers need to assess Lewie Coyle, Akin Famewo and Joseph after taking blows against Southampton. Ryan Giles, Cody Drameh, Mo Belloumi, Eliot Matazo, Enis Destan and Darko Gyabi are sidelined, while Ajayi is not yet back from AFCON. Lundstram is back, while Hirakawa can also play.

Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur retains his place between the sticks. HCAFC has Dillon Phillips as backup.

Regan Slater may have to take the right-back position due to defensive injury issues. If Famewo drops out, Coyle may have to move to left-back. He recently played there against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup.

Charlie Hughes and John Egan should once again star at center back with Ajayi unavailable. Cathal McCarthy will be ready to step up again if necessary.

The Tigers may have to give Lundstram a start Preston North End next to Amir Hadziahmetovic, with Matt Crooks just in front of them. Joseph is a doubt, meaning David Akintola could feature, while Liam Millar is set to play against his former team.

McBurnie will take the lead for Hull City as he looks to add to his tally. Gelhardt and Hirakawa will likely be on the bench.
