The schedule of Great Britain for the IIHF IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship 2026 has been confirmed.
In about 270 days the tournament kick in Switzerland will be hosted in the lively cities of Zurich and Friborg.
The International Ice Hockey event will attract fans from all over the world and promises unforgettable moments.
From 15 to 31 May 2026, the world’s top 16 national teams will outline 64 exciting games for the prestigious world championship title.

Tuesday, May 19: Hungary V Groot -Britain 20:20 (19:20 BST)
Thursday, May 21: Switzerland against Groot -Britain 20:20 (19:20 BST)
Friday, May 22: Finland against Groot -Britain 20:20 (19:20 BST)
Sunday, May 24: Great -Britain against Latvia 16:20 (15:20 BST)
Monday, May 25: Germany against Groot -Britain 20:20 (19:20 BST)
Christian Hofstetter, general secretary of the 2026 IIHF WM in Switzerland, said: “We are delighted to reveal the official game schedule.
“Switzerland will organize a compact and emotionally charged world championship with top hockey and excellent games from day one.”

With just under 90 minutes of travel between Zurich and Friborg, the 2026 tournament fans and teams offers a compact experience, with short journeys and an exciting atmosphere between the two guest cities.

Day day packages are available from 12:00 on Monday, September 8, 2025 to 2026.iihfworlds.com. Individual game tickets are for sale in February 2026.
About the IIHF IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship
The IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship returns to Switzerland after 17 years. The Global Ice Hockey Elite comes together in Zurich and Friborg from 15 to 31 May 2026 at the largest annual winter sports event. The 2026 IIHF WM takes place in the state-of-the-art ice hockey areas of Zurich and Friborg. In total there are 64 and the 16 best national teams will compete for the title of the coveted ice hockey world champion. During the 17 days of the event, around 1,300 volunteers will help to create an unforgettable ice hockey experience for fans and teams.
