Have a nice Sunday! The Chicago White Sox plays the Cleveland Guardians this afternoon to end these three-game series, while looking to avoid the sweep. After a red-hot start that comes from the All-Star break, the team seems to have gotten in the way of a bump and has now lost six succession. The Guardians are known to have been quite dominant about the South Siders lately, so hopefully the team can save a victory for a hard series against the Detroit Tigers from tomorrow.
Davis Martin will stand on the hill against Guardians Righty Slade Cecconi. Martin is 3-9 this season with a 4.11 ERA and 1.29 Whip. He has been up and down lately and each of his last three outings have been in the fifth inning. His last match against the Seattle Mariners he went five innings with seven hits, five earned points, two free runs and five strikeouts.
Cecconi was with the Guardians in his first year because he was part of the trade for Josh Nijlor when the Arizona Diamondbacks originally exchanged for him for him the last season. He was prepared by the Dbacks in 2020 and made his MLB debut in 2023. So far he is 5-4 this season with a 3.72 ERA and 1.19 Whip. His last outing against the New York Mets was solid because he went six innings with four hits, two points, one walk and six strikeouts. He appears in his 15th game of the season.
Mike Tauchman will distract it, followed by Lenyn Sosa and Andrew Benintendi. Luis Robert Jr. And Colson Montgomery go in the middle of the order, while Curtis Mead is initially and Kyle Teel is behind the dish. Brooks Baldwin turns left and Josh Rojas is the third base.
