G87 M2 vs. Mustang Dark Horse vs. C8 Corvette – On Track and Dyno (by Savagegese)

I had a 2018 SS1LE Tremec M6 and did more than 50 track days. Only changed oil, pads and tires. Never had one problem. On paper it has the same power as the G87 (455 hp versus 453 hp), but more torque.

The SS1LE is a phenomenal track car fully stock and with only simple coordination with more camber. The V8 sounds incredible.

On the street, however, it is a bit rough with poor visibility, a little fast driving, and when I occasionally tried to put the children in the back, there was always a fight because nobody wanted to ride there

The M2 is much, much better street car. I have had 4 ppls on it several times to eat and the like no one complains. There is sufficient storage for your phone, etc.

On the circuit the M2 gets slightly higher top speeds on the straight pieces, but it is a slower center corner. The net result is that, for example, with Lime Rock (1 min track) it is the ˜1-1.5 sec slower stock for stock. I think the entire gap closes with tires (1le Gysc3 are great).

The G87 -strand is always moving – makes it more fun, but a little less self -confidence inspiring. The 1Le is always planted – jumping over curbs, center corner waves, etc. it will not disturb. G87 You need a while to wait for the wavy before you go full.

In general I enjoy the G87 much more. It has much more bandwidth. It can relax, the tail can hang hilariously on an autocross or do large track runs. It is the total package for a nice car.

PS De 1LE and the G87 were the * only * street cars that I once drove on the right track that had no thermal problems. I consider them arriving and driving hard cars. So I’m glad that Savage geese point out.

I think you will love the G87 when you change. But you will also miss the 1le and the V8 sounds The same old Dilema … you go for the hot party redhead or the stylish sweet blonde. Anyway, stay away from the Skanky Brunette (Mustang).
