Functional Laboratories Mothers older than 30 have to walk – the fitnessista

Sharing some of my go-to-functional laboratories for mothers older than 30.

Hello friends! How are you? What are you planning this morning? Today I have a few phone calls, a training and a podcast interview this afternoon.

For today, let’s talk about one of my favorite topics: functional laboratories. (Kind reminder that this message is not medical advice. I am not a doctor, and these are just a few of my favorite laboratories to walk with customers. Before you make health changes, contact your doctor.)

What are functional laboratories?

Functional laboratories go beyond the standard bloodwork that you usually get at your doctor’s office. Although conventional laboratories are looking for disease states or markers outside the reach, functional tests have been designed to assess how well your body functions for Something goes wrong. These laboratories can uncover underlying imbalances in hormones, minerals, intestinal health, detox routes and more; Often before the symptoms become more serious.

In contrast to standard tests, functional laboratories often use non-traditional samples such as saliva, urine, stools or hair (instead of or next to blood). This ensures a more detailed picture of what is happening at cellular and metabolic level. For example, a mineral analysis of hair tissue (HTMA) can show mineral imbalances and toxicity of heavy metals, and a salivent cortisol test can map your stress response during the day – things that you usually do not see on a routine blood panel.

These tests are incredibly valuable for creating targeted protocols that support healing in the cause, rather than just managing symptoms. They can also be completed at home, making them super accessible.

Functional laboratories for mothers older than 30

If you are a woman older than 30 and have the feeling that your body does not react like before – your energy is finished, your sleep is inconsistent, your training sessions don’t work and your mood feels like a roller coaster – it’s not in your head. It might be time to look under the hood!

Functional laboratory tests are one of the most empowering things you can do for your health. Instead of guessing which supplements you should take or to try, Testing gives you data. It gives you clarity. It tells us where your body is out of balance, and more importantly, what we can do about it.

(It is worth mentioning here that these tests are not looking for diseases and are not used to diagnose disease. Instead, they look at shortcomings and toxicities, so that you can work to bring the body back in balance.)

These are the core -functional tests that I recommend for many of my mother -friendly customers older than 30 hours. These can be especially useful if you are in the thirty, 40s or afterwards, and want to lead the symptoms such as:

Hormonal imbalances

Fatigue and Burnsout

Weight gain (despite doing “the right things”)

Mood swings or anxiety

Problems

Bowel problems and bloated feeling

Hair loss or skin changes

My favorite functional laboratory tests from Equilife

1. Stress, mood and metabolis metest

This is a game check. The Stress, mood and metabolism Test gives us a snapshot of your sex hormones (such as estrogen and progesterone), your stress hormone (cortisol), your thyroid gland (TSH, T4, T3, reverse T3, antibodies) and important insulin and blood sugar markers.

Why it matters: these systems are deeply interconnected. If you experience stubborn weight, fatigue, irregular cycles or mood swings, this test can show the full picture. Many women are surprised to discover that their symptoms are connected to slow thyroid function or cortisol dispunction, and as soon as we know what is going on, we can make a targeted action plan.

2. Organic Acids Test (OAT)

Think of this as an internal report card about how your body actually functions. Oat Looks at more than 70 markers related to the health of the intestine, detoxification, neurotransmitters, food levels, mitochondrial function and even overgrowth of yeast or fungi.

Why it matters: if you have mysterious symptoms that don’t seem to be connected – or you are just exhausted, foggy or always inflamed – this test is so useful. It often discovers hidden imbalances that other standard laboratories miss and gives us a clear direction about where you can support your body with targeted supplements or protocols. This can be particularly transparent for car – immune, digestion, skin and mood problems. View it here.

3. HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis)

This is one of the most under -utilized, yet incredibly valuable tests in functional medicine. The HTMA Looks at your mineral balance (such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium and zinc) and exposure to toxic heavy metals (such as mercury, lead and aluminum).

Why it matters: minerals are the spark plugs of your body. If they are out of balance – often because of stress, contraceptive use, poor digestion or chronic infections – this can affect the energy, metabolism, thyroid and detox routes. We also gain insight into adrenal function and your nervous system. It is a cheap, non-invasive test that can offer enormous insight, and it is often the one I start with.

4. IgG Food Sensitivity Test

Although it is not always necessary for everyone, the testing of food sensitivity can be useful if you struggle with inexplicable bloating, skin problems, joint pain or fatigue; Especially when these symptoms continue to exist, even with a clean diet.

Why it matters: food sensitivities can cause low inflammation in the intestine, which turn into the health of the hormone, the immune response and energy. This test Can give us a temporary route map of what we have to remove or reduce so that the intestine can heal.

Here is the big picture

These tests are not about perfection or “biohacking” your way to stress. They are about getting answers. And from those answers, making a plan that feels sustainable and personalized for you.

With the correct data you can:

Sleep better (and deeper)

Finally have steady energy again

Feel mentally clear and emotionally grounded

Balance your hormones and improve the health of the cycle

Understand exactly what your body needs now

Stop wasting money on supplements that you don’t need
