With a second round pick in the NBA design of 2019, the Hornets Jalen selected McDaniels from the state of San Diego. He played the first four and a half seasons of his career at Charlotte. McDaniels appeared in 174 races for the Hornets and made 41 starts. During the 2022-23 season, McDaniels was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. This was part of a deal with four teams at the Handelsdeadline.
Jalen McDaniels played 50 games for the Raptors in 2023-24. Last summer he was traded twice. He eventually found his way to Washington after he had been abandoned by the Spurs. McDaniels spent most of the 2024-25 season playing the G-competition branch of the Wizards. The 27-year-old played last season in four games for the Wizards.
