Playing style
Xavi is credited as a very versatile player, mainly as a left-sided attacking midfielder, but is considering that he fulfills deeper or even second triker roles.
These graphics, thanks to Transfer market.comShow his positional versatility:
His technical skills and vision are his most impressive features; He works well in sleek-areas-with flair-filled dribbles, complicated steps, decisive balls and smart link-up game are characteristics.
In particular in the attack, in the Eredivisie season 2022/23 he led the competition – and corresponding to European players – in goals and assists after Ball Carries, with his transitional threat.
In the meantime, Simons had one of the better minutes per key pass averages (42.3 minutes) in the Bundesliga in 2024/25, only closely behind Liverpool Florian Wirtz (£ 8.4 million, 41.4 minutes). For the context, Maddison’s rate in the Premier League 45.0 was.
The Dutchman also picked up 50 shots in 25 Bundesliga trips, with 24 of those efforts outside the frameworks.

He is also very able to support the defense and has a high working speed, so he can print intensely, something new manager Thomas Frank will be very happy.
His low center of gravity and agility give him an excellent balance and control in one-on-one, although his slim frame will adapt to the physicality of the Premier League a challenge.
He adjusts seamlessly in various attacking configurations and movements, but sometimes shows positional predictability – especially prefer his right foot and cutting inside, which limits unpredictability by broad positions.
Nevertheless, he will probably play a crucial role in Tottenham’s season, especially until Maddison is fit again.
His experience and adulthood at such a young age is remarkable, after he has already played for some of the largest teams in Europe, win trophies and playing Champions League football is all very impressive.
“He is still young, but he already has a good experience and has played many games at the highest level in recent years.” – Thomas Frank
What do Simons fit with Spurs?

Frank’s tactics are clearly pragmatic and adaptable, with a long time between 4-3-3 (in easier tests) and 3-5-2 (against the ‘big clubs’), it focuses on defensive organization, counterattacks and some innovative set pieces.
Last season for Brentford, however, he used almost exclusively a 4-2-3-1 system, making creative outlet possible Mikel Damsgaard (£ 5.9 million) to shine.
In most tactical systems that Frank usually uses, Simons will play a crucial role. It is most likely on the left side of a 4-3-3, where he can cut in on his favorite right foot.
He could also be introduced in a system of 5-3-2 and 4-2-3-1 in the number 10 roll. With his vision, close control in tight spaces and talent for determining decisive by balls, he has the tool to unlock stubborn defenses.
With the arrival of deadline day Rander-Change Close Participate in an already talented forward line with Mohammed Kudus (£ 6.6 million), Brennan Johnson (£ 7.1 million), and Richarlison (£ 6.7 million), Simons has no shortage of goals for his creativity.
It would be expected that Simons occupied Maddison’s position, because a creative 10 is what Spurs will miss the most, but it would also not be surprising to see him on the left.
“… Sometimes you need a player who can do something [clicks his fingers] A bit out of nowhere, go past the player, produce a cross, a shot, a pass, with the extra quality that you need on the day, and that is what I think he can bring. ” – Thomas Frank
Is Simons worth buying in FPL?

The price of Simons reflects what you would expect for a talented player who has been brought in to replace a starter.
It is likely that he may be admitted immediately to the start XI, but it is worth waiting to see first.
His quality and the fact that he fits well into the systems that Thomas Frank will use is a big factor, and he could be a great choice, especially if he takes on a prominent role on set pieces.

Spurs returns after the international break with a favorable series of competitions that start against West Ham United (A). Xavi could appear early in that piece, and if it fits well, there is every chance that he will become a fixed value.
Brighton and Hove Albion (A) are perhaps his first start as a Spurs player, but Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) in Gameweek 6 could be a good access point, given the opponent and the fact that there could be home support.
