FPL in 5 minutes: everything you need to know about Gameweek 13

If you’re in a hurry and need some last-minute Fantasy Premier League (FPL) advice, here’s a quick summary of what you need to know about Gameweek 13.

WHEN IS THE FPL GAMEWEEK 13 DEADLINE?

All transfers and team selections must be made no later than this 13:30 GMT on Saturday 29 November.

INJURY UPDATES

Two of FPL’s most owned players missed Gameweek 12 entirely: Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.4 million) and Antoine Semenyo (£7.9 million).

While the Arsenal defender will be sidelined for a number of weeks, Bournemouth’s star striker should make his trip to Sunderland.

“He has trained with the team in the past few days. So if everything goes well today, he will be available tomorrow, yes.” – Andoni Iraola about Antoine Semenyo

We also learned from press conferences that Crystal Palace are center backs Marc Guehi (£5.1 million) and Chris Richards (£4.6m) are both fine, but Matheus Cunha (£7.9m) will still be unavailable after missing Manchester United’s home defeat to Everton and – heartbreakingly – turning on the festive lights at Altrincham.

Managers must be able to rely on it Sean Longstaff (£4.9m) will at some point not like the news of his four-to-six week absence.

But Chelsea fans are happy with the news that Cole Palmer (£10.3m) is both fit and capable of starting against Arsenal.

“He is available to start and play. Everyone is happy, the teammates are happy, we are all happy and the most important thing is that Cole is happy because a footballer wants to play matches and make sessions every day.” – Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer

TIME FOR A FREE HIT?

Lateriser's FPL Gameweek 13 Free Hit concept

In fact, this top-two clash makes many popular FPL assets look briefly unattractive. And it’s the same for Crystal Palace against Man United.

That’s why some managers believe that Gameweek 13 is a good time to activate their Free Hit chip. That’s what Lateriser does, and maybe Zophar does too. That’s why we’ve created three designs that aim to take advantage of the attractive fixtures of Manchester City, Aston Villa and Brentford.

Pep Guardiola made ten lineup changes in midweek, pointing to Saturday’s start Nico O’Reilly (£5.1 million), Phil Voet (£8.0 million) and Jeremy Doku (£6.6 million). The midfield duo are ready for some attacking fun, according to our goal threat and assists tables.

Erling Haaland (£14.9 million) and Igor Thiago (£6.6m) are the league’s two top scorers, Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) could be a nice differential punt, and Morgan Rogers (£6.9 million) is a unanimous choice of the Scout Squad.

The Aston Villa man scored twice in Gameweek 12 and is set to face last-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers at home. It appears as it is in the article ‘Buy, keep, sell’ God bless you (£7.7 million). Sadly, one of ‘The Great and the Good’ sold the 27-year-old Arsenal just before his hat-trick in the North London derby.

MEDIUM-TERM CHOICES

FPL Gameweek 13 Q&A: Free Hit Picks, Thiago + Are Liverpool Players Worth It?

Elsewhere, Liverpool’s trip to West Ham United feels less straightforward as Arne Slot’s side have lost nine of 12 in all competitions. But they, like Arsenal and Man United, have strong games in the medium term.

In his Q&A, Zophar says more confidence should be placed in the champions’ attacking talent than in their backline.

Still, a busy six-week period is about to begin, during which rotation will be a major issue. That’s why we’ve estimated when each of the Premier League’s nine European representatives are most likely to rest their key players.

Seeing is also not helpful Mark Senesi (£5.0 million), Daniel Munoz (£5.9 million) and Granit Xhaka (£5.2 million) is one yellow card away from suspension.
