Grant Forrest drove to a second career -victory in Thuisgras and claimed the Nexo championship in Aberdeen with four shots.

The Scot, who recorded his first DP World Tour title in St. Andrews almost exactly four years ago, controlled the Blustery weekend conditions at Trump International Golf on the left to take the lead in the tournament.

From the last round of Sunday with a pillow with three shots, the 32-year-old briefly saw his benefit being cut to two after Todd Clements the opening hole Bird. But when Forrest responded with a Birdie on the fourth and stumbled at a Triple-Bogey eight on the same hole, the gorge balloon to five and Forrest never looked back.

The world No. 294 added two more birds to a single fallen shot for a double bogey at the latter, draw with an even-par 72 for a total of eight.

“It’s great – just speechless,” said Forrest. “It’s the same week on the calendar as my first victory four years ago, so maybe there is something about this week, and being at home, that makes it special.”

“I just can’t believe it. It has been such a difficult year on the golf course. It is just a crazy game that you can go and can do this, with what feels like out of nothing.

“It’s just that old chestnut who can turn things around for a week and that did.”
