Former UFC champion SLAMS casual MMA fans for calling Islam Makhachev ‘boring’.

A former UFC champion has hit back at fans who labeled newly minted UFC welterweight kingpin Islam Makhachev as boring despite a dominant win at UFC 322.

Last weekend, Makhachev dethroned Jack Della Maddalena with a unanimous decision to join the roster of two-division UFC champions. With maximum ground control time over five rounds, the pound-for-pound king showed why Dagestani wrestling is the best in the world.

Unlike fans who love every facet of mixed martial arts, some prefer fights in which the fighters choose to stand and bang. However, Makhachev was aware of the risks that came with taking on a big striker like ‘JDM’, so he opted to take the fight to the mat and dethrone the Australian.

Despite having more than 19 minutes of ground control time, several fans and pundits labeled Makhachev’s performance as boring. Michael Bisping supported Makhachev in response to the criticism the Dagestani phenomenon received. In a recent YouTube video, Bisping lambasted MMA fans who labeled Makhachev as boring. ‘The Count’ said:

“There are a lot of people online saying that the Islam vs. Jack fight was boring, and that has turned off a lot of fans. Was it boring when Islam knocked out Renato Moicano in the first round? Was it boring when he knocked out Dustin Poirier in the fifth round and got a performance bonus? Was it boring when he knocked out Alexander Volkanovski for the second time by headbutt in the first round? No. Saturday night, however, Jack vs. Islam was a bit boring… People were watching their Islam beat him once taken down over and over – this is mixed martial arts, not boxing. Yes, these comments are from casuals or MMA haters who think MMA is all about hugging.”

UFC lightweight kingpin also thinks Islam Makhachev is ‘boring’

UFC lightweight kingpin Ilia Topuria also took a dig at Islam Makhachev after UFC 322. Topuria has called out Islam Makhachev on several occasions and is confident he can beat Makhachev. Last weekend, after Makhachev dethroned Jack Della Maddalena, Topuria went to X and labeled Makhachev as ‘most boring’.

“Islam, you need something you cannot train: emotion. You are the most boring thing in this game. Every day I am more certain that I put you to sleep.”
