If there is one thing that the Phoenix Suns could do with more for the 2025-26 season. Not because they are the contenders – but with Grayson all somehow the second longest regular player on the Roster – they need old heads to lead the young people and also to tap some victories to their overall record.
With the organization that is not in control of their first round pick in 2026, the incentive for tank and you just play Rookie Center Kaman Maluach 35 minutes a night, not even. That is why it was interesting that they reportedly rejected the opportunity to reunite this season with Chris Paul, despite the fact that Devin Booker was apparently in the idea.
Kevin O’Connor thinks Chris Paul can be the sixth man of the year.
The 40 -year -old instead came to another former team in the La Clippers -and although they now have a Kawhi Leonard problem – Kevin O’Connor Is Bullish about his chances of winning the Sixth Man of the Year Award. A sentiment with which he recently shared Legend of winning on his podcast Yahoo! Sport.
Whether or not O’Connor will be proven correctly – and Paul really continues to brave the opportunities where he ends up – there is no doubt that he could have had an even greater impact in Phoenix. Winning prizes is cool, but unless we talk about rings, Paul doesn’t care. That would not have happened with the Suns, but he is not so close if he also thinks at the height with the clippers.
What Paul could have done in the valley is further raising his legacy because he would have started for the Suns, at least in the first instance. Yes, that would have meant a difficult conversation with Jalen Green – who could have entered the Sixth Man race himself – but Paul could have been a real contribution that made the life of Booker a lot easier by setting up his teammates every evening.
He would also have had boys like Maluach, Dillon Brooks and Ryan Dunn who could have done so much of the dirty work defensively for him that his body no longer allows him. Although that also applies to his teammates in Los Angeles, the start of the season would start as a starter before he may be moved to the bank so much cooler.
Paul would also have been an incredible mentor, not only for a young man like Green who has all the tools, but also a hard-working backup in Collin Gillespie. If he makes a run for this prize with the clippers, then the front office of the Suns will look foolish again because he does not bring him back for what is certain is his last year. Not as if in 2025-26 there will be much different to celebrate.
