Hamline has appointed Jake Bobrowski the new head coach for the ladies’ hockey team.
During the 2024-25 season, Bobrowski served as head coach for the women’s team of Northland. He had Previously announced as head coach for Beloit For the 2025-26 season after Northland was closed at the end of last season.
“We are delighted to welcome Jake in Hamline to serve as our main hockey coach for women,” said Hamline assistant VP/athletic director Alex Focke in a statement. “He has a deep understanding of what it means to be a piper. He returns to us with great coaching experience and I am excited to see him build on the success of our hockey program for women.”
Bobrowski replaces Whitney Colbert, who would take place earlier this summer.
“I am humble and fulfilled in gratitude to get home in Hamline,” said Bobrowski. “I want to thank Alex Focke and the team for making this such a first -class process and gave me this opportunity. I also want to thank my wife Jennifer and family for taking this trip to Hamline. I look forward to coming to come with the players and feel the electricity in the building for the fans to see quickly and fun.”
Bobrowski started his collegial career in 2015-16 as an assistant coach at De Pipers, a position he held for six seasons until 2020-21. He was part of a coaching staff that inherited a program that ended with only six wins in 2014-15 and collected a record of 88-41-14 in the next six seasons.
Under the help of Bobrowski, the pipers went to the NCAA Division III Frozen Frozen twice. This included a season 2018-19 in which Hamline reached the national championship game and recorded a program record in victories with a record of 23-4-3. This came after a 2017-18 season in which the Pipers ended up 22-5-3, claim a Miac touring championship and continue to their first frozen four.
Bobrowski coached six All-Americans during his time with the Pipers, including the AHCA National Player of the Year in 2019.
After his time in Hamline, Bobrowski was assistant -coach in Minnesota, where he helped in coaching the Gophers to a NCAA tournament -after winning the WCHA title. Bobrowski was also the head coach for Elmira and brought the Soaring Eagles to the conference championship in his first season and left the team in 10th place nationally.
Before he started his coaching career, Bobrowski spent 22 years in the police with the police of Saint Paul.
