Former Miami Grand Prix president Tyler EPP has joined the new Formula 1 team of Cadillac as his worldwide head of the commercial strategy.

EPP was the president of the Miami race since 2022, but last week it was announced that he was a position elsewhere and would be replaced by Katharina Nowak. That new destination has now been confirmed as Cadillac, where EPP will lead the commercial activities of the incoming F1 team.

“I have spent so much of my career in racing and in recent years helping to define again what American motorsport can be,” Epp said. “I can no longer think of exciting and promising opportunity to galvanize our sport in the United States than this. The Cadillac Formula 1 team is ready to become a global force in F1 rooted in the American tradition and ingenuity. I am incredibly proud to participate in this effort from the very beginning.”

Since the inaugural race in 2022 – originally as a senior vice -president and chief operating officer – EPP led the motorsport activities in Miami in Miami.

With EPP that Miami helped to establish himself as a new race in F1 and a contract extension until 2041, TWG Motorsports and Cadillac F1 Team CEO Dan Towriss, says his track record made him the perfect fit for the newest sport participant.

“We could not have found a better leader and visionary to develop the commercial arm of our team,” said Towriss. “His work that the Miami Grand Prix forms in one of the tents events on the Formula 1 calendar, demonstrates his unique control of sport in the interior and worldwide.”

Although he also has earlier engine athletes experience in Nascar and Indycar, the record of EPP in delivering a successful new event was also emphasized by Cadillac team director Graeme Lowdon, while the team supported by General Motors is preparing for the grid in 2026.

“It requires incredible leadership to successfully build a team from the ground, and someone is exceptionally necessary to perform the kind of vision and ambitions that we have for the Cadillac Formula 1 team,” Lowdon said. “Tyler has a proven track record in the cultivation of organizations that set the standard in Formula 1, and I am convinced that his operational expertise will be a crucial acquisition for our organization.”
