The Georgia native signed a MiLB deal with the Jays heading into the 2025 season and made the big league roster, but was briefly cut from the team after allowing four earned runs in 1 2/3 innings. Lovelady signed with the Minnesota Twins shortly thereafter, but spent the entire time in the minor leagues before being released in mid-June.
He would sign with the Mets shortly thereafter and ended the campaign by splitting his time between the minor leagues and the major leagues, repeatedly being DFA by the club. With New York, Lovelady pitched to a 6.30 ERA over eight appearances, allowing seven earned runs and ten hits in 10 innings. He struck out nine batters and walked four during his limited time in Queens.
Lovelady, a six-year big league veteran, joins his seventh big league organization.
