Hansi Flick has called on Barcelona’s Fringe players to continue to perform in the absence of some of his stars in the first team after their comfortable 3-0 win over Getafe.
Barcelona made three wins of three in all games to move two points behind leaders Real Madrid in Laliga, while the brace of Ferran Torres led them to victory on Sunday.
Dani Olmo also played his role with a goal and an assist at Estadi Johan Cruyff, built on their impressive Champions League win in Newcastle United in midweek.
Flick chose to change his attack after their midweek victory, with Marcus Rashford, who scored twice in St. James’ Park, replaced by Torres, while Lamine Yamal was still injured.
Torres has reimbursed the faith of his manager, with his first half that brought him to 23 goals in 51 performances under Flick. Indeed, only under Xavi (25 goals in 113 performances) did he score more times under the same manager in his club career,
And after helping Torres’s opener, Olmo registered a goal and an assist in the same game for the first time in his career in Barcelona and did this in 45 games.
Torres is no ordinary starter, especially with Robert Lewandowski Back Fit, and Flick wants a united front about his team to build on last year’s success.
“It is very important to have players in top form. We have matches every three or four days, so it is great that our players perform at a high level,” said Flick.
“We have 25-27 players and we need everyone. The most important thing for me is that every player gives his best for the advantage of the team, and Dani Olmo did that today.
“That is what we will expect from him all season. Every player in the team is important, and I am happy that I have attackers of this level, they help us a lot.”
23-Ferran Torres has scored 23 goals in 51 games for Hans-Dieter Flick’s Barcelona in all competitions. Only under Xavi Hernández (25 goals in 113 apps) did he score more goals under the same manager in his club career (Josep Guardiola, 16 in 43). UPDATE. https://t.co/uxsdckyrxr

The Midweek hero Rashford from Barcelona was a surprising omission of the starting XI, who scored twice against Newcastle.
However, it was reported that the England international was dropped on the bench after he was too late to a pre-match meeting, but had an impact on the field.
Rashford replaced Raphinha during the break, where film describes the reasoning behind that decision and said: “It’s normal, we have a game every three or four days.
“This is what happened to Fermin, so we have to be careful with it.
“Today I decided to replace Raphinha during the rest for the same reason and because he had a yellow card. We don’t want to lose him for the next game.”
The only negative out of the victory was an injury to Fermin Lopez, where the Spaniard was seen with an apparent groin injury after the game after the game.
“We have to wait until tomorrow for Fermin. Nothing is known yet,” concluded Flick.
