Remembering Johnny Gaudreau

We have presented the question below to our readers to answer with their best Johnny Gaudreau memory.

Heorica against the ducks in 2015

This moment (and the year was incredible for the flames. The team was not even supposed to be in the play -offs, but the young, skilled Rookie Johnny Gaudreau gave the team a huge boost. It seemed that nor what, the flames would find to get a victory to find a victory, the flames are the flames, the flames, the flames, the flames are, the flames, the flames, the flames, the flames, the flames, the flames, being a speel, speeling, speeling, speeling, the flames, the flames, the round two of the Nhl, speeling, speeling, the flames of the Nhl, speel. Ducks team.

First NHL -target

When Gaudreau was only a little man who wore number 53, didn’t know much how good he would be. In the last game of the 2013–14 season, Gaudreau made his NHL debut in Vancouver, and he scored the only goal for the Flames, a shot from the point beyond the goalkeeper. It was an exciting moment for not only Gaudreau, but for the entire Flames fan base, because this was a sign of the many goals that came in front of the star.

Two goals in 16 seconds

10 years ago, during his Rookie season, Gaudreau again showed the world how he would be one of the best players in the competition one day. In the first period against the Edmonton Oilers, Gaudreau de Puck discovered in the attacking zone and the Puck passed Fash with its patented backhand five-hole movement. Only a few seconds later, while his goal was still announced, Gaudreau had an escape and the puck again passed the goalkeeper of the oilers. It was an incredible moment to see from the Rookie, and fans recognized that when they started singing “Johnny! Johnny! Johnny!” Immediately afterwards.

Bond with Monahan

Gaudreau and Monahan were great teammates on the ice, but outside the ice they were best friends. Earlier in their career it seemed that you could not mention Gaudreau without calling Monahan, and vice versa. They were a packaged deal. They were one of the best emerging duos in the competition. They were most flace fans from Flames Fans. They did so much of the ice together, and it was clear that there was a strong bond between the two. Years later this was really exhibited when the Flames passed the Dallas stars in Game 7, when an injured Monahan waited for Gaudreau in the tunnel to embrace him after scoring his playing goal. Although the career of both players such as Flames did not end how fans wanted that, Flames fans were really blessed to see both players on the ice.

Purple Gatorade

During the 2018–19 season, the Flames were one of the best teams in the competition. Much of them was due to the incredible chemistry of the top line with Monahan, Lindholm and Gaudreau. It is unclear when exactly this tradition started, but after each goal of that line she would always get three sips from the same purple Gatorade bottle. This started as Gaudreau’s ritual, and suddenly the entire top line was in tradition.

Game Seven OT Winner

Last but certainly not least, there is his game Seven OT winner against the Dallas Stars. It is not surprising that this moment was the most popular reaction. The Flames were in a very tough series against the Dallas stars and a keeper who applied a historic version in Jake Oettinger. It was game 7 and the tensions were incredibly high in the saddled. The flames dominated the stars, but again, Otettier was incredible in the net and he dragged his team to overtime. The next goal would decide who went on to play the oilers in Round 2. Here comes Johnny Gaudreau, with the 63rd (yes, 63rd) shot from the Flames for the flames. He took a shot from a sharp angle on the left side of the ice and squeezed it to the left right right past the right shoulder of Oettener. The rest was history. I was in this building during this goal, and I don’t even think I can put the emotions of what I felt into words. I have never heard the Saddledome so loud and I have never seen fans celebrate a goal as they celebrated. This is something that I, and many other Flames fans, will remember the rest of their lives.

Thanks for the memories, Johnny

It is almost a year since Johnny Gaudreau died, and sometimes it still doesn’t really feel really. Gaudreau was such a special player, but he was even more special as a person. Flames fans were so lucky that they could have seen him play with the Flaming C on his chest for eight years. He brought the team back for relevance, gave fans something every night to cheer and fans removed from their seats with his skill level. A whole generation was introduced in hockey because of Johnny Gaudreau, and he is the favorite player of many people. He is one of the best players of the Flames of all time, and I hope to retire his song soon. Thank you, Johnny, for everything you have done for the city of Calgary and for hockey sport. Rest in peace.
