Queensland real estate: Mick Fanning and his partner Breeana Randall
World surfing champion Mick Fanning is building a spectacular seaview mansion inspired by the sea, after leaving a dream home rocked by a stalker nightmare.
The luxurious new home, named Onda after the Spanish word for wave and atmosphere, marks a new chapter for the Gold Coast surfer and his partner, Breeana Randall, who raised $16.05 million for Rolling Seas, a luxury beachfront home turned holiday accommodation.
The couple, who have two children, moved after stalker Sarah Anne Foote broke into Bilinga’s property in February 2020. Foote was convicted of unlawful stalking in 2021 and sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Fanning, a three-time world champion and Aussie sports Hall of Famer, paid $6.54 million in 2023 for a 787sqm plot with elevated coastal views. An existing four-bedroom property on the site was demolished and Brisbane-based builder-developer Graya was commissioned to design a contemporary three-storey townhouse.
“We are excited to share our newest project, ONDA,” Graya director Rob Gray said in a social media post.
“Situated in a rare beachfront location, Onda is a celebration of coastal connection and barefoot luxury, where design flows as effortlessly as the tide.
“ONDA captures the rhythm of the ocean and the relaxing energy of seaside living.”

Fellow Graya director Andrew Gray described the construction as a “passion project”.
“With architecturally designed houses there are a lot of details, they are very tricky, it’s almost like you could build a block of flats for the same management,” he said in an interview with the Courier Mail earlier this year.
“At one point we were working on fifteen houses at the same time and that was way too many. The houses we are making now are passion projects, just like Mick Fanning’s.”
Artist’s impressions of the beautiful five-bedroom, five-bathroom residence reveal a bold curved facade, with a breeze block-style screen for privacy and filtered light.
The pale stone and concrete exterior is softened by the greenery cascading across the roofline, while the lower level is anchored by a sleek wooden slatted fence and wide stone walls.

Open-plan living areas are anchored by light wooden floors and a striking island bench with marble edging, while the pool is flanked by entertaining terraces with panoramic beach views.
Other amenities include a bar, sauna and ice baths.
Combining coastal influences with a modernist touch, the home is currently under construction and marks a break in style from their last rustic, Hamptons-inspired beachfront estate.

Fanning grew up in Coolangatta and built his career hitting the area’s famous breaks.
He has owned several other Gold Coast properties and sold a designer Tugun home with an indoor skating rink for $3.3 million in November 2024 in preparation for the luxury new build.
PropTrack’s latest house price index shows values on the Gold Coast increased by 10.06 per cent over the year to October 2025, reaching a new high of $1.228 million for all homes.
