AC Milan dropped more points in the race for the Serie A title as Christopher Nkunku’s 90th-minute draw saved a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The result leaves Massimiliano Allegri’s side two points behind leaders and rivals Inter, who face fellow Scudetto hopefuls Napoli later on Sunday.
Milan came close to scoring the opening goal in the 20th minute, but the close-range shot was saved by David de Gea after good work from Niclas Fullkrug in the build-up.
Pulisic fired a left-footed effort just wide of the right post shortly afterwards, before Cher Ndour saw his header comfortably saved by Mike Maignan at the other end.
Fiorentina started the better of the two sides after the break as Fabiano Parisi poked Maignan’s palms, with the hosts’ perseverance rewarded in the 66th minute of the match.
After Robin Gosens went close with a header, Pietro Comuzzo put Fiorentina ahead as he rose highest to fire Albert Gudmundsson’s corner into the bottom corner.
But just when it looked like Milan were on their way to a second league defeat of the season, substitute Nkunku drilled home at the near post after Youssouf Fofana’s neat pass behind the defense.
Fiorentina almost took all three points in second-half stoppage time, but Marco Brescianini hit the crossbar before Moise Keane’s effort was denied by Maignan.

Data debrief: Maignan magic saves Milan
Milan have now gained 10 points this season by losing positions in Serie A, with only Cagliari (11) recovering more. However, it could have been a different story had it not been for their captain Maignan, who put in a sensational performance.
The France international made six saves in the match, two of which came in the closing stages to not only preserve Milan’s point but also extend their unbeaten run in Serie A to 18 games, with the latter Rossoneri having an extended spell without defeat between January 2022 and September 2022 (22 games).
It was a closely contested affair, with Milan leading the expected goals (xG) battle with a total of 1.8 from their 13 shots, although only three were on target, compared to Fiorentina’s 1.48 from their 20 attempts after their late flurry.
