FIH Pro-League: “Great to see Pakistan coming back”

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) can confirm that the Pakistani men’s hockey team, nicknamed the Green Shirts, has accepted the invitation to participate in the coming season 2025-26 of the FIH Hockey Pro League.

Pakistan was promoted through the FIH Hockey Nations Cup that played in Malaysia earlier this year. While Nieuw -Zeeland won that event against Pakistan in the final, Hockey New Zealand later indicated that the Black Sticks would not continue this time with the invitation to become a member of the Pro League. That is why FIH, as laid down in the regulations, expanded the invitation to second place, namely Pakistan, who confirmed their participation.

Fih President Tayyab Ikram said: “Great to see Pakistan again in Elite Competition – this is a truly impactful milestone for World Hockey. The FIH welcomes Pakistan in the ‘League of the Best’ and is looking forward to their competitive presence that makes further historic competitions possible and continues the diversity of the competition. Further details about the competition schedule and locations will be announced in due course.
