The International Hockey Federation (FIH), in collaboration with leading sports production company Sportzworkz, has just released an exciting half-hour film: “THE LEAGUE OF THE BEST”.
In six episodes, the film offers a fresh look behind the scenes of the FIH Hockey Pro League – the most important global hockey competition where the best countries and athletes in the world compete against each other every year. It explores the intensity, rivalry, emotional highs and lows and the passion that fuel this unique event.
The film stars some of the greatest international hockey athletes, including Yibbi Jansen (NED), Harmanpreet Singh (IND), María José Granatto (ARG), Tom Boon (BEL) or Sam Ward (ENG).
Established in 2019, the FIH Hockey Pro League has become an unmissable event on the global hockey calendar, offering its winners direct qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup or the Olympic Games!
“Traveling together to places like Australia, Argentina or India is of enormous value. When you get to play in front of full stadiums… that’s exactly what players and coaches live for!” says Jeroen Delmee, coach of defending champion men Netherlands about the Pro League.
“We are extremely excited about our Pro League debut in Dublin in December. We see the tournament as a vital opportunity for our squad to play consistently at the highest level all year round,” added Sarah Hawkshaw, captain of the Ireland women’s hockey team.
“Pro League gives us the opportunity to develop players and improve our readiness for major competitions,” said Shane McLeod, coach of the Belgian men’s hockey team.

“THE LEAGUE OF THE BEST” is aimed at everyone – whether long-time fans or those just discovering hockey – and is available on FIH’s streaming platform Watch.Hockey (free) and through broadcast partners around the world. It will also soon be available in the form of short clips on social media.
