For many car enthusiasts, their love for a specific platform starts with a video game or a poster on the wall. For this R32 Skyline owner, the obsession started Gran TourismWhere the R32 quickly became its go-to platform. Years later, that virtual passion changed into a real-world project, and what started in driveways, carports and back gardens has been converted into a striking build with SEMA-level ambitions.
First Mod: dropping the Monster Truck look
“The very first thing I had to do was coilovers – can’t walk through the streets that looks like a sample truck,” he laughed. Like most builds, the attitude came first, so that the foundation was laid for style and performance -upgrades to be followed.
A balance of strength and style
“I would probably say for both. I used to race in the past, but now I just want the appearance together with the power in the event of days that a car or two should pass.” That philosophy is clear during the transformation of the skyline: a car that is built to turn the head on the street while still packing the punch under the hood.
Fightbook MMA CEO, and 4cornersmafia’s photographer, Roberto Villasought -after Chris And Christine Romero Why is it that they became part of the 4cornersmafia family:
We have had a passion for cars for years. We are currently showing Case our 1992 Nissan Skyline R32 and our Honda Civic 2013 in shows and events in NM. Of course we never have AUTEPROJECTS. We are from Santa Fe Nm. We met Lionel and Rosita back on a show years. They immediately felt like family. As we saw them more and more over the years, passion for cars and family was known. They saw few changes that we made the cars. Welcomed us without questions. They show love to everyone. Nothing is a competition with them. We finally took the leap and left an autoclub in which we were to get to our car family, because that is exactly what it is. A car family. The amount of love given to all members is beautiful. Very blessed and grateful to be part of it! The world disappears when we attend shows with the Fam! They are just cars and love! It is always difficult to leave home, but it is always a look next time and a band that is stronger at every event.
Childhood Dream, realized
When asked why the R32 was his answer immediately: “Ooof, R32 was a build, all of the start of Gran Turismo on PlayStation. I would always have the R32 -SKYLINE as a platform.” What started as pixels on a screen was a physical project, fed by passion and nostalgia.
Turbo -sensation
The biggest transformation? “Upgrade to a larger turbo with the stop computer made such a difference. It was exciting to re -control the car – opened a whole new experience for the car.” With more boost and modern motor management, the skyline became reborn in something really exciting.
Widebody’s struggles go
Each project has its headache, and for this build it was the Widebody kit: “Definitely do the Widebody. Do you see a man once? Certainly not, haha. But that was the most difficult – a lot of measurement and a lot of work on and out, spotting, spotting, spotting, motting, spotting, pasting and bothering.
Built in the back garden, not the store
Unlike many builds with high dollars, this R32 wears something that money cannot buy: proud. “I do all the work myself. That is one thing that I can certainly say that I am proud of. My literal car is built in back garden, garages, carports. My vehicle has never seen a legitimate store. Friends have helped me get the car to what it is today, and everyone shows love for this backyard-built car. Makes me proudly and fun.”
The Ultimate Dream: SEMA
Like many in the tunermate, his sights have been put on the big stage: “Ultimate goal, I would say one day at Sema -Autoshow. The ultimate showcase for every car enthusiast – to be proud and recognized that your own vehicle, from parking meetings and car shows, made it to Sema.”
A street and showbuild
Although it is built to perform, this R32 is not about abuse: “Especially street show Build. Do you want to be able to enjoy my car, do not abuse it, but just lean back and enjoy the ride.”
Adapted details that pop
Asked what people notice the most, smiles: “Haha, I would say between my adapted rear lights or the OEM wheels that have been converted into 3-part.” Small details such as these make the car unique and unforgettable.
Advice to new builders
“Hmmm, I would say to your ideas, your goals, your mentality of what you want your car to look like. What does it matter what other people think? Where do you go outside or do you open your garage door and do you tell yourself, do you know what? I have built this. This is not the dream of someone else. This is my dream.”
From Gran Turismo inspiration to a backyard built, this R32 skyline is proof that passion, perseverance and a little bit of driveway fat can turn into something that is worth SEMA.
